Trust-Based Philanthropy

Flipping the Switch on Traditional Philanthropy

Trust-based philanthropy is a core set of values that is flipping the script on traditional philanthropy. These values are based on shifting the power dynamic prevalent in funder to fundee relationships, with an emphasis on advancing equity, building trusting relationships and mutual accountability, and seeking to demonstrate humility and collaboration in all aspects of philanthropy.

The Kinship Fund is proud to be building our organization around these principles. This is a journey that will continue, with new steps to take at every turn – a commitment to continued growth, self-reflection and authenticity. We hope to be a part of the work to create a stronger social fabric in our communities.
